Collage Butterflies

 I have an overabundance of paper at the studio. Calendars, dust jackets from library picture books, shiny papers, textured papers, maps, music, and all the colors you could imagine. So I decided to create some Butterfly collages. I started out with some imaginary butterflies and they evolved becoming women butterflies. I showed them at the heARTland Gallery in Hillsboro Il along with a retrospective of my husband's art. It was a great show and I'm very grateful that Martha asked me to show our work there. (I think I have butterflies out of my system for awhile now!)

Three colored images for a new manuscript.

 I've been working on this manuscript for a couple of years. It's a regional story. But I'm keeping the story under my hat until I've exhausted all my publishing options. Just wanted to let you know I've been very busy prepping illustration work for submissions.

I've been busy! Designing for Education.

 Since my last post, I've been busy working on a dummy I hope to start submitting by the end of this month. I have another in the works, and I've been designing activities for Heidi Roemer's Steam Powered Poetry website (www.steampoweredpoetry.com). And of course, I've been writing along the way too. Here are a few of the "activities" I did for Heidi's webpage. It's been good practice for me. Designing pages for education is fun but I don't think I'd like to do it full time.
