Working on a series of snowmen for January 2021. A few of them had Christmas imagery, so I'm posting a preview before the year ends. #scbwi #kidlitillustrators #kidlitart #drawingchallenge #inktober52 #365drawings

Christmas Angels 13-17: #scbwi #kidlitillustrators #kidlitart #drawingchallenge #inktober52 #365drawings

Continuing a self-directed drawing challenge. Aiming for 365 drawings this year. I like to choose a theme and work it until I've used up all my ideas, then switch to another topic. (Keeping me busy while I wait to be released from Covid Jail)

25 Christmas Angels #365drawingchallenge

Here are my first three Angels in my 25 Angels for Christmas (self-directed drawing challenge). I had such a good time with Inktober 2020, I decided to keep the ball rolling and challenge myself to draw for a year. I'm already missing color, I may have to break down before the 365 days are over and add some washes, at least. Here are my first 3 Angels:

November Scarecrows 2020

I looked for a prompt post to follow for November to keep the ball rolling after Inktober, but didn't find one that inspired me. So I decided to go for a personal 365 day illustration challenge. These are the Scarecrows I did at the beginning of November. (After these I switched to doing 25 Angels for Christmas, that I will post near the end of December.) Hope you enjoy my journey. (Not sure I can sustain just ink drawings for 365 days, sadly missing color.)

Cardboard Tubies: Arctic Fox

Until the pandemic, I worked with kids at our local library. We had two sessions. One for younger kids ages 3 to 3rd grade (Storytime) and another for kids 4th- 6th grade (ArtVentures) We tried to use lots of recycled materials: cardboard tubes, paper plates, cups, etc. Since we can't meet face to face, I've been posting on FRIENDS of the Gillespie Library on Pinterest showing things you can make from cardboard tubes. (Most I reposted from Pinterest.) This is my first original "tubie" of an Arctic Fox. Can't wait to get back to the library and start seeing our kids once more.
